Yet market reactions have been far from uniform. Some assets have held steady. Others reacted initially, but those moves have not been sustained. The link between headlines and market direction is not as clear as it once was.
For emerging markets, that creates a more complex picture. Energy exporters are seeing support from higher prices, while importers are facing renewed pressure on inflation, currencies and growth.
The challenge is not a lack of information. The challenge is knowing what matters, and what to do with it.

Prior to his current role, Michael was Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Martin Currie, overseeing all the investment teams and providing insight and leadership on strategic initiatives. He has over 30 years of experience at the highest level in Investment Management and shares his expertise through clear and insightful conversations.
A father of five, Michael enjoys time with his family, supporting their various sporting talents and aspirations.

Oliver Wallin is a solutions portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton with responsibility for developing multi-asset portfolios for clients in Europe. Mr. Wallin has over 30 years' experience in financial services, primarily focused on the provision of multi-asset, multi-manager investment solutions.
Prior to Franklin Templeton, Mr. Wallin was an Investment Director for QS Investors, a quantitative multi-asset and equity manager. QS Investors combined with Franklin Templeton Multi-Asset Solutions in 2020 to create Franklin Templeton Investment Solutions. Before joining QS Investors, Mr. Wallin spent 10 years as an Investment Director at Octopus Investments, where he worked as part of the award-winning multi-manager team. He was previously a founder of North IP, a multi-manager investment specialist, and an asset manager at Henderson Global Investors. Mr. Wallin has also held roles at Schroders and Fidelity, where he began his investment career as a graduate trainee. He entered the financial services industry in 1993.
Mr. Wallin has a bachelor of arts (joint honors) in fine art and history of art from Goldsmiths College, University of London. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA) designation.

Elias A. Elias is a vice president and product manager for the European and UK Equity teams at Franklin Templeton Investments based in London, UK. Mr. Elias works closely with the portfolio management and distribution teams, and is responsible for articulating the investment process and capabilities to clients and other external parties.
Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Mr. Elias worked as an European Equities product manager at Invesco Asset Management.
Mr. Elias holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut, and a Master's degree in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick. Mr. Elias is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Marcus Weyerer joined Franklin Templeton in November 2018. In his role as Senior ETF Investment Strategist, he is responsible for the macro and tactical positioning of our ETFs with investors. Previously, Marcus Weyerer was ETF Sales Specialist at WisdomTree for the German-speaking regions. Until 2016, he worked at Intesa Sanpaolo in London as a money market trader and in the bank's treasury service for international corporate clients. Prior to that, he worked in various positions at Commerzbank AG and the Erste Rosenheimer Privatbank. Marcus Weyerer studied at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and holds a Master of Science in Finance & Capital Markets. Marcus is also a CFA® charterholder.

Mohieddine Kronfol is the chief investment officer for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Mr. Kronfol is responsible for managing the investment process, research, and performance of the Global Sukuk and MENA Fixed Income teams, and leads portfolio management for FTSF Global Sukuk Fund and FTIF GCC Bond Fund.
Mr. Kronfol has over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is one of the founding partners, a board member of Franklin Templeton (ME), formerly Algebra Capital, and a ESG ambassador for the firm.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Kronfol was the head of debt, capital markets, and fund manager for SHUAA Capital. He also was previously with Middle East Capital Group (MECG). Mr. Kronfol joined Franklin Templeton in 2006 as managing director and head of fixed income.
Mr. Kronfol holds a bachelor of arts in business administration and an MBA from the American University of Beirut. He won the first Failaka Islamic Award for “The Best Sukuk Fund” in 2010, the first Employee Provident Fund of Malaysia (EPF) Award for “Best Global Sukuk Portfolio Manager” in 2014 and 2019, and the MENA Fund Manager Award for “Outstanding Achievement by an Individual” in 2016. Franklin GCC Bond fund won the Mountain View Fund Award 2019 in the Bond Funds Global category.
